Deliverable 2.1 is the Data Management Plan which is part of the European Comission's Pilot on Open Research Data. The purpose of this DMP is to provide an analysis of the main elements of the data management policy that will be used by the applicants with regard to all the datasets that will be collected, processed or generated by the iSQAPER project. The DMP is not a fixed document, and will evolve during the lifespan of the project.

In accordance with the Open Research data Pilot, partners in the iSQAPER consortium will share their research results within the project and/or publicly with minimum delay.

A specific choice is made to focus the Data Management Plan on the core activity of iSQAPER, namely to interactively assess soil quality, to evaluate how agricultural management practices influence soil quality, and how potential wide-scale uptake of improved agricultural management practices can affect soil-based ecosystem services. Hence, although many data are collected within the project, Work Packages 2-7 generate the core datasets covered by the DMP. The project goes through several stages (see picture) and the roles of different types of data collection and generation change.
